The climbing hall is used for sporty climbing. The sport climbing spread esp. in the 19th century. Bouldering became popular in the 1950s.

The climbing hall generally offers several climbing routes and different levels of climbing. It takes place on an artificial wall, whereby the athlete is secured by rope.
