The climbing hall is used for sporty climbing. The sport climbing spread esp. in the 19th century. Bouldering became popular in the 1950s.

The climbing hall generally offers several climbing routes and different levels of climbing. It takes place on an artificial wall, whereby the athlete is secured by rope. When climbing at height (bouldering) are mats on the ground, so you do not usually rely on a rope here. Usually there are beginner courses and equipment for climbers, so that people of all ages can try the climbing sport.
